Pittsburg Community Theatre’s production of “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” was honored with the Outstanding Musical Production award at the 41st Annual Shellie Awards ceremony, Saturday evening January 11, 2020.
Director Keith Barlow said he was “so proud to have directed a show with so much heart. What a wonderful cast and a fantastic experience for me. Thank you to the Shellie committee for acknowledging a great cast and a quality show.”
The Shellie Awards are a local equivalent of the Tony Awards given out annually. This is the first Outstanding Musical Production award PCT has ever received in its 40+ year history. PCT has committed itself to enhancing the quality of its productions and put on the best shows possible at affordable prices. This honor is a sign that their hard work is being recognized and that community theatre is alive and well in Pittsburg. Also honored at the ceremony with a Shellie award was Monty Python’s “Spamalot” for Outstanding Lighting given to Dianna Schepers.
